- In 2021-22, presidents: James Rosenberger & Vidya Venkatachalam: James and Vidya were challenged with reintroducing MAT to students in the post-pandemic school year. Accordingly, they were highly effective in increasing membership involvement in the MAT events and activities. Moreover, they introduced numerous activities, such as the Pi Day Scavenger Hunt, that will likely become MAT tradition. In the fall, James will attend UChicago as an Economics major and Vidya will attend UC Berkeley as an Applied Mathematics major.
- In 2020-21, presidents: William Fu & Mansi Gupta: Will and Mansi were presented with a difficult pandemic year, but in response, they were still able to increase membership to an all-time high of over 100 members. Additionally, they helped pioneer a virtual ARC and new alternatives including our first middle school math fair. Will is attending Columbia University with hopes to major in Chemical Engineering and Mansi is attending the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with plans to major in finance.
- In 2019-20, presidents: Jake Klimek & Shivansh Gupta: Jake and Shivansh have increased the membership and member participation to a record high (74 total members often using 2 classrooms). Jake, readily committed to serve as a passionate math ambassador who inspires others, is going to major in Chemical & Biological Engineering @ Princeton University. Shivansh, also a dedicated NV math team member, is going to major in Computer Science @ Caltech.
- In 2018-19, presidents: Kevin Zhao & Chris Song: Kevin and Chris oversaw the annual M4TS contest and were committed to increase membership involvement in MAT events and activities. Kevin Zhao received the Outstanding Senior for Mathematics award @NVHS. Chris Song enjoyed competing on the NV math team and garnered many awards during his time on the team. Kevin is @UIUC where he is pursuing accounting and Chris is @Northwestern.
- In 2017-18, president: Ethan Mann: Ethan, a 3 year member, created our official NVHS MAT website as a sophomore and successfully streamlined our leadership efficiency and club activity productivity as an outstanding leader. He received the Outstanding Senior for Mathematics award @NVHS. He is @ Calctech majoring in applied math and computer science.
- In 2016-17, presidents: Anna Li & Dharm Sodha: Anna and Dharm oversaw the second annual M4TS contest and helped expand membership greatly. Prior to being president, they were the grade level representative for two years. Anna also enjoyed competing on the NV math team. She is @ UIC for GPPA Medicine, aiming for a dual degree in math and chemistry. Dharm is @ Loyola University in Chicago pursuing Neuroscience with a pre med track.
- In 2015-2016, presidents: Deepankar Gupta & Savvy Raghuvanshi: Deep and Savvy were instrumental in inaugurating the annual Middle School Math Contest (M4TS) that has become a welcoming NVHS-MAT tradition that is much enjoyed by the middle-schoolers from Crone, Gregory, and Scullen. Deep is Class of 2020 @MIT while Savvy is Class of 2020 @ Harvard University.
- In 2014-2015, president: Deepankar Gupta: Deep, served as the shoulders upon which the upcoming MAT leaders have the opportunity to stand, is Class of 2020 @MIT majoring in Computer Science.
- In 2013-2014, president: Kevin Shah: Kevin undertook a leadership role in key initiatives which have promoted a passion for math and collaborative learning. Not only was Kevin willing to excel in mathematics, but also consistently aided others in mastering material. He received the Outstanding Senior for Mathematics award @NVHS. He graduated from University of Michigan with CS major and is now a Product Manager @ Facebook.
- In 2012, Kevin Shah (see picture of founding members below, back row, third from the left.) founded NVHS Chapter of MAT. Kevin, a sophomore with foresight and vision, was the driving force behind founding the NVHS Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta. His legacy has been carried on and impacted many in our entire IPSD204 learning community.
